Cookies Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This website uses cookies and similar storage technologies to ensure it works correctly and to remember your preferences while you browse our tours and experiences in Madrid. This policy clearly explains what they are, which ones we use and how you can manage them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored in your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage (localStorage), allow information to be saved on your device to remember preferences or keep a session active.

2. Types of cookies and technologies used on this website

This website does not currently use advertising or profiling analytics cookies. If analytics or advertising cookies are activated in the future, the user's prior consent will be requested through the corresponding configuration banner.

  • Technical or necessary cookies: essential for the website to work properly (browsing, security, managing the booking and payment process). They cannot be disabled because the service is not available without them.
  • Personalisation cookies or storage: they remember information so you can access the service with certain features, such as the selected language (Spanish or English).
  • Third-party cookies in the payment process: the payment gateway (Base44 Payments / Wix) may set its own necessary cookies to process payment securely. Their management corresponds to that provider.

3. Legal basis for the use of cookies

The legal basis for technical and personalisation cookies is the legitimate interest of MAD Alternative Runs in the correct operation of the website and in providing the requested service. For any other category of cookies, the user's prior and explicit consent will be requested.

4. Details of the cookies and storage used

  • mar_lang: local storage where the selected language (Spanish or English) is saved. Persistent, until browser data is cleared. Purpose: personalisation.
  • Session and security: technical cookies from the hosting provider (Base44) necessary for secure browsing and registered user management.
  • Payment gateway: technical cookies from Base44 Payments / Wix during the payment process. Session cookies expire when the browser is closed; persistent ones may remain for periods ranging from 1 day to 2 years depending on their purpose.

5. How to accept, configure or reject cookies

You can allow, block or delete the cookies installed on your device through the settings of the browser installed on your computer or device (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).

Please note that disabling technical cookies may prevent the website from working properly and a booking from being completed.

6. International data transfers

The use of third-party services, such as the payment gateway or the hosting provider, may involve access to data from countries outside the European Economic Area. Where these transfers occur, they are carried out under legal security frameworks that guarantee the protection of your information.

7. Retention of the data obtained

Data obtained through cookies and local storage will be kept for the time strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes described, or until the user withdraws consent or deletes the data from their browser.

8. User rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of the personal data generated by cookies. You can exercise these rights by writing to info@madridalternativeruns.com. If you believe your rights have not been addressed, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
